Shane Garcia - You’re Not Her (Single)
Queer 25-year-old American singer/songwriter, Shane Garcia’s cultural background comes from Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. The R&B artist from New York City and Westchester county emerged on the scene with their first single, an emotionally charged break-up track called "strange" in 2018 that premiered on Soundcloud which garnered attention and put them on the map within the New York music scene.
Coming out at 14 years old was a difficult period to find self-love and confidence; but Shane found comfort in writing about their inner world through their music and tackling issues of gender, sexuality, mental health and deep self-discovery. A breath of honesty that makes Shane’s music easy to relate to.
After a first single in 2022 “Bestest Friend”, Shane Garcia now releases “You’re Not Her” a brutally honest song about relationships.
Shane Garcia: “This track is a brutally honest conversation I had to have about why things weren't working out in a relationship. It's so difficult to tell someone that it's not who they are, it's who they aren't. I didn’t get over my previous partner fully and continuing to date is a shitty slope to go down when in that state of mind. I found myself in a situation where I really liked someone, and enjoyed time with them but emotionally I was unavailable. I thought with time my feelings would match theirs but it proved that I always had "her" on my mind, and she was who I looked for in everyone at the time.”
