JWhale & JimmyG ft: Zueva - Relations Rework (Official Video)

After having their debut single "Relations" played on BBC Radio 1XTRA by DJ Target, JWhale & JimmyG have reworked the track in a video, with all new instrumentation to promote the release. The video "Relations Rework" features Norwegian artist Zueva.

Influenced by the likes of The Streets, Calvin Harris, A Tribe Called Quest, MJ Cole and Flying Lotus, JWhale & JimmyG are a self-produced future Garage and Hip-Hop duo based in the Midlands. They combine energetic and colourful beats with reflective and unashamedly British lyricism to create a unique and accessible sound.

The original 'Relations' is a UK Garage banger with an ear-worm of a hook performed by Alissa May and meticulous production from JWhale & JimmyG themselves. The nocturnal sound of the track paints the image of nights spent in university bars. JWhale's fast-paced lyricism serves as an internal monologue as he battles with his reluctance to romantically commit to someone, due to fear of the unknown.

This rework video sees JWhale & JimmyG explore the song in a whole new way, recreating the track with all new instrumentation and lyrics to create a drastically different, more chilled out feel than the original. They worked remotely with Norwegian artist Zueva to record the track's chorus.

The boys will be performing at a variety of venues throughout the year in partnership with TULU Presents, including "The Backyard" festival in Leamington Spa and their regular residency shows at Also Known As, in Banbury.
