PREMIERE: Jozem - it came to me in a dream (Album)

Based in Toronto having spent parts of his childhood in Kenya & Rwanda, singer songwriter and all round artist, Jozem has an upbringing with a rich tapestry. One in which he has tentatively and expertly weaved into the fabric of his debut, self produced album it came to me in a dream.

Layered with texture and depth, it came to me in a dream is a ten track compilation which sonically represents the last ten years of Jozem’s life. Culminating in a project thick with experience, healing and learnings of all kinds. A decade of life, in all of its vast and varying forms has gone into the process of creating this debut and Jozem’s soul can be felt in each and every offering.

Encased in his velvet-like, chill inducing tone that carefully details his stoic, introspective lyricism, Jozem transcribes his thoughts and emotions deeply and honestly, like a true poet.

Sitting within the more whimsical, electronic and experimental side of alternative RnB it came to me in a dream features endless explorative rhythms and warm future soul, drenched with atmospheric, dreamy Lo-fi.

Incorporating the nostalgic and transpirational effects of field recordings into his music, Jozem adds a connective tether, tying particular tracks to moments in time and space, inviting his listeners to also experience pieces of his past in a way unlike any other.

It’s clear from thievery beginning of this album that Jozem has embedded parts of himself at every opportunity, taking his time and including incredible attention to detail, we traverse this dream world of Jozem’s creation together and bare witness to not only his debut but more so his exceptional storytelling and immersive artistry.
