Omega Sapien - Wuga (EP)

Omega Sapien, founding member of alternative K-pop group Balming Tiger, releases the immediate and primitively charged solo EP “Wuga” via LuckyMe, a raw and caustic collection of tracks created to incite energy and showcasing one of Asia’s most exciting artists at their creative peak. The project features single “JENNY”, described by The Fader as “an elastic and bouncy ode to man’s best friend, a warped stereo knocker that mixes big drums and bubbling synths into something warm and loving.”. The project also boasts production credits from Grammy nominated producer Baueer (Pusha T, Missy Elliot, Just Blaze) and will include previous singles, punchy 808-laden “DDOKBOKKI”, clubby and cinematic collaborative track with Nuxxe-label head Sega Bodega - “Plum”, and high-octane “WRECKER” featuring Vernon of K-pop collective SEVENTEEN.

“WUGA” EP follows the release of Omega’s “Garlic and the Mugwort: The Genesis”, a remix album which consisted of tracks from his debut album, "Garlic". The Korean polymath enlisted a slew of producers and collaborators to once again push the boundaries of alternative music, resulting in a bubbling amalgam of digital hardcore, hyper-pop, alt-rap and electronica. The album featured remixes from New York band Machine Girl, and producer felicita, who is part of the London-based label PC Music. Additional features include global artists such as Amsterdam’s Golin, Mexican production whizz Zutzut, DJ Paypal, and Japan’s foodman. The participation of local Korean musicians such as simo and Jibin of Y2K92, JNKYRD and Salamanda makes the album a whirlwind tour of Omega Sapien’s global musical influences and peerage.
