gglum - Weak Teeth (EP)

gglum shares her second EP ‘Weak Teeth’, alongside the lead track ‘Don’t Think Twice’ ft. Ray Laurél. The release is accompanied by the official video directed by Brandon Quan and Tyrus Hill, and out now on all streaming platforms.

gglum - the moniker of Ella Smoker - shares her sophomore 8-track project ‘Weak Teeth’, the follow-up to her much-lauded debut ‘once the edge wears off’. Calling upon up and coming London artist Ray Laurél to lay some vocals on the lead track ‘Don’t Think Twice’ with the extraordinary talent and friend Kamal on co-writing duties, the single is a real masterclass in pop music that shows the artists versatility whilst keeping her signature style intact. To accompany the single, the Brandon Quan and Tyrus Hill directed video captures what it’s like to grow up in London and the city's bustling nightlife.

Across the EP, the artist has collaborated with some heavy hitters - including Karma Kid, Zach Nahome, Mura Masa, Jonah Summerfield, Matt Hales, Jonny Coffer, Ray Laurél, Nathan Boddy and Kamal. - who have all injected their own magic to bring this very special project to life. Across the tracks, the artist explores the complicated journey of love and relationships, navigating her way through all the overwhelming emotions that come with it. Writing from a standpoint of clarity for the first time since she first started making music, it was one of the first times she felt able to write without feelings of melancholy that have plagued her thoughts so far. “It was such a relief to break out of that and be able to write from a new perspective,” she states. “As a result, the whole process was so quick. I was really inspired at the time for some reason. Every session I was going into I would write something that I really liked and wanted to put on the EP.”
