Moving from strength to strength, Mount Druitt prodigy Young6ix takes it all in his stride as he partners with one of the UK's largest sports retailers to form an impressive partnership with notable UK brand 'HoodRich'.

Bearing punchy 808’s courtesy of PAX, 'On My Back' is understated yet captivating. Young6ix declares he is “the trenches son”, divulging a real and raw account of his journey through the streets.

The track comes laced with an infectious hook, and injected with 6ix’s refreshing energy and artistic flair.

Young6ix sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

Since I was a little kid I have loved music. I used to sing in church and being from an Africa background, music is an important part of our culture.

2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

I grew up listening to different varieties of music but the one that influenced me the most was rap and drill. The artists that had the most influence of me was king von, lil Durk, Polo ~G, Chief keef, kwengface I would love to work with any of them.

3.  What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

I have an EP on the way. All I can tell you is that I have the best team.

4. How would you describe your sound?

My sound is unique. it’s a mix of my African background and my Australian background.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

The Making of my EP, because it’s dedicated to my daughter I just had, so I put my soul and heart into it.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

Keeping on pushing some days u will feel like fuck this shit and giving up. But the best thing u can do is take a break and then get right back to it! Nothing is easy in life, you have to work hard.

7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?

Ooh I think you should keep an eye out for that EP.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?

Fumez the engineer. Youngboy all his albums, also Lil Durk, King von, Meek Mill

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

Spending time with my daughter and family.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

My phone, my laptop, food and snacks.
