Dr Lekta ft. Caine Pyrex - Crit Keepers (Album)
Liverpool-based MC Dr Lekta presents “Crit Keepers”, a collaborative album with Australian producer Caine Pyrex. The 7-track album features well-crafted samples and beats, alongside Dr Lekta’s flows and lyricism reminiscent of classic Hip-Hop artists like MF Doom.
The Album’s title track “Crit Keepers” immediately sets the tone for the project, with Caine Pyrex treating us to a sound that reminds you of classic horror movies, with an almost eerie-sounding piano line played over a hard-hitting beat, with the perfect bass to get your head moving. On top of this Dr Lekta wastes no time in letting the audience know who he is, oozing charisma with flow and lyricism as he weaves through the beats leaving his sonic footprint. The album features a number of up-and-coming rappers including Big May Don, Traz, Mademelo and I9ON, who perfectly complement Dr Lekta’s style whilst adding their own unique flavour to the tracks. Lekta proves throughout the album that he knows how to craft hooks, with tracks like the closer “Teach You a Lesson” having the capacity to stick in your head all day long.
Crit Keepers follows Dr Lekta’s first two singles “Kane & Lynch“ and “The Starter”, both released earlier this year, it’s safe to say that he is quickly making a name for himself with his impressive flows and no-nonsense lyrics. Any fans of 90’s hip hop and rap will be wanting to add this to their playlists as soon as possible, and should be eagerly awaiting whatever Dr Lekta has in store next.
