Kenzie TTH - Bonnie (B-Side) (Official Video)

Boston-born, London-based multidisciplinary artist Kenzie TTH shares her latest single Bonnie (B-Side) co-written and produced by Leon Vynehall. The track is paired with the official music video co-directed by Kenzie TTH and AboveGround, and out on all available platforms now.

After a period tucked away in the studio with Leon Vynehall, Kenzie TTH returns with new material showcasing her songwriting prowess and unmistakable vocals. Layered over expansive production, Bonnie (B Side) is a song about who she is when no one’s around, confronted with an identity crisis of her own self-image versus what people expect. “To me, Bonnie as a character is the girl that gets labelled “quirky” or the “eccentric manic pixie dream girl” and feels like she plays a supporting character in her own life. I think we all have some Bonnie in us — the presentation and performance of self that then gets commodified and flattened into a two dimensional object by others,” muses the artist.

The accompanying music video perfectly encapsulates the message that Kenzie TTH communicates in the track, posing the question ‘Who are we when no one’s watching?” The main character in the narrative is Bonnie, a street clown who performs for loose change and others approval. A young girl becomes entranced by Bonnie and spends an afternoon following her around, leaving her with ideas of how she should conduct herself, act and dress. As Bonnie returns home, we watch a breakdown ensue behind closed doors.
