Mr Jukes & Barney Artist have released ‘Air To Your Hidden Lung’. The track follows up ‘93’, an upbeat, modern, piano-backed take on the classic boom-bap formula.

‘Air To Your Hidden Lung’ maintains the boom-bap foundation of ‘93’, but Mr Jukes slightly tinkers with the musical elements around the drums to create a darker, more solemn tone (as described in the above quote). The contrast in mood between this track and ‘93’ showcases the potential diversity of sounds that could be found on a potentially imminent, upcoming sophomore record. The majority of the instrumental is scarce, placing emphasis on the bassline. Later in the song, ambient elements, violins and chilling backing vocals are worked in to create an atmospheric tension. Barney Artist’s delivery is characteristically confident and raspy, which complements the production’s scarcity. His lyricism can be cutting at times (an example of which being “don’t drown in your soul’s vice”). The track ultimately serves as an exciting, dynamic second taster of the upcoming project.

Mr Jukes & Barney Artist are touring in August and September. Tour dates are as follows: 12 August (Boardmasters Festival), 14 August (Boomtown Festival), 22 September (Dublin, Workman’s Club), 23 September (Belfast, Ulster Sports Club), 25 September (Glasgow, Garage), 26 September (Manchester, Academy 2), 27 September (Brighton, Chalk) and 28 September (London, Koko).

Alongside the new single, the duo have also released their own brand of hot sauce, named ‘93’ in reference to their previous single - this is available at their official store.
