Prepare to go on an adventure with the duo LARWOOD & KOH with their alternative brand of Hip-Hop as they release their latest single ‘Goldmine’. Sonically the track is playful, energetic and fun, these two have shaped themselves into a place where they are refining the Hip-Hop scope. The visuals for this track also captures this playful essence and will resonate with a larger audience, the visuals make you want to get up and join in. Laced with intricate flows and introspective lyricism capturing your attention. Since the release of their debut EP ‘Score’ the pair have evolved musically and cannot wait to take you on the next part of their journey.

Discussing their new release and the story behind the track, LARWOOD explains: “Goldmine was written in the pandemic and throughout that time - myself and Koh had built up an archive of music that we were gassed about. He sent me this beat with a few others and that line ‘me n my team got a gold mine’ was the first line that came to mind. The rest came relatively naturally and then we kind of forgot about it after we started working on a few other ideas. We came back to it at the end of last year and worked on the hook and got really excited again and then my brother, who is our main photographer, came up with the idea of the video and we went from there. The track is about trusting your work and the people and support that are a part of it - it’s a celebration of that process.”

Discussing the creative process, KOH explains: “From my starting roots with an mpc and having a Mediterranean background, finding a mariachi style chop was almost too fitting. Only having a double bass and drums/percussion on the verse gave LARWOOD the space to do what he does best. Overall simple but super fun and playful to make.”

Freshly forged, emerging duo LARWOOD & KOH met - by chance - in late 2019. Producer KOH, an ex-metal bassist from Kingston-upon-Thames, saw Lancashire-born, London-bred lyricist LARWOOD pop-up on his Instagram feed and decided to send him a message. “It was his lyrics that caught my attention,” he recalls. “He was different and he stood out to me.” LARWOOD had only put out a few songs on Soundcloud and was using Tom Misch and Mac Miller beats to rap over. “I was looking someone I could work with and create something as a pair,” he shares. After a few back-and-forths and a period of experimenting, LARWOOD & KOH was born. A year later and the two have released their debut EP ‘Score’, featuring Verbz, that offers a taste of what the two are capable of. LARWOOD’s versatile flow and honest lyrical presence complement KOH’s varied production. Though heavily influenced by US boom-bap, their music remains distinctly English with grime and UK rap underpinning their sound. The duo have had airplay on Chuck D's show 'And You Don't Stop' from the ground-breaking hip-hop group Public Enemy. They have also been praised for their visuals such as ‘AXIS’ which has won Best Director & Best Editor at the Music Video Underground Festival in Paris and The Wordplay Session Lungs which has racked up over 17k views.

LARWOOD & KOH’s upcoming project is not one to be missed, as they continue to make waves and shake things up for an exciting future ahead.
