Distance will be the Greek born, Manchester-based soulstress’ fourth single to date, available to stream on all platforms from today.

The singer-songwriter wrote and co-produced the track in her own home studio in Manchester, with Manchester and London based producer Milton Casmil. The heartfelt ballad takes the listener on a journey of Falyra’s inner battles throughout a relationship, where love is conflicted by feelings of inadequacy and mutuality. It speaks to the form of heartbreak where you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, inflicted by the realisation that you can’t continue to be with the person you have fallen for.

More so, Distance explores finding strength within vulnerability. Finding the power as a woman to walk away from the person you’re deeply attached to, to respect your own worth. Her silky smooth, honeyed vocals chime “Just watch how I can’t // I can’t decide I don’t know what I won’t do // In my feelings I ain’t finished no”.

Falyra Bloom defines the intention of her music to establish a connection with the listener, by narrating common experiences we, as humans, all go through. Consistent with lyricism that is relatable, and that resonates with the listener and encourages interpretation of their own experiences. Her sound, an amalgamation of R&B and Soul with her own unique flair added, inspired by her favourite 50s singers, Etta James and Otis Redding.
