Santigold - Spirituals (Album)

Santigold has released her fourth album, Spirituals to acclaim spanning NME, DIY Magazine, Clash, Loud & Quiet, The Arts Desk and much more. Renowned for her boundary-free art and uncontainable urge to push towards the future, the anxious confinement of the past couple of years became a battle to protect that spirit. Writing these songs was her way to access freedom and push towards the light, finding a sense of ascension.

Spirituals is a uniquely personal album for me because, more than ever, it’s an album about the process of creating—a testament to the spiritual quality of creation and its deliverance.” She also shares, “If I had to sum up the experience of this record in one image, it would be ushers at a church, dressed in white from head to toe, and I'm the churchgoer who they fan and support, crowding around me as I shake, thrash, and speak in tongues as I take off, and then I’m gone. Ascended. And then I realize that all the ushers were me.”

Along with Santigold, the producers and contributors on Spirituals include Rostam, Boys Noize, Dre Skull, P2J, NickZinner, SBTRKT, JakeOne, Illangelo, Doc McKinney, Psymun, Ricky Blaze, Lido, Ray Brady, and Ryan Olson. A fiercely innovative artist always looking to break from the limitations of the music business, it is the first Santigold album released on her own label Little Jerk Records and is distributed by Secretly Distribution.
