Ezra Collective - Ego Killah (Single)

Ezra Collective have released new single, Ego Killah. The reggae and dub-inspired cut comes with a visualiser created using time-lapse footage.

The band have also announced a forthcoming tour of Europe and the UK which culminates in a hometown finale at Brixton Academy. The shows are listed below, tickets go on sale 30th September.

Speaking about Ego Killah, bandleader Femi Koleoso says: “At the very heart of Ezra Collective is the influence of reggae, dub and sound system culture. Sound systems such as Channel One, Aba Shanti-I and Jah Shaka.

This title, Ego Killah is one we can all relate to. It’s the point in a journey where you become your own worst enemy. Where progression has to happen on the inside before you can see the fruit on the outside. The ability to kill your ego will serve you on your journey going forward. Sometimes where you’re meant to be, hasn’t happened yet, because of your own ego - that’s when you need the Ego Killah.”

Ego Killah follows earlier singles Victory Dance and Life Goes On, and all three tracks are lifted from Ezra Collective’s forthcoming album, Where I’m Meant To Be, out 4th November on Partisan. The record - which features Sampha The Great, Kojey Radical, Emeli Sandé and Nao, plus spoken contributions from Tony Allen and Steve McQueen - is a thumping celebration of life.
