PREMIERE: Imoni - Hypnotized

Today’s premiere is from Essex singer/songwriter IMONI with her first release of 2022. Showcasing a slightly darker side of RnB this is a sound we’re fully here for, and it’s crafted in collaboration with Cape Town producer Mark Akol. 

Despite having only released a handful of singles to date, IMONI has already had some impressive highlights including featuring on New Music Daily with her debut single ‘Money’, having her tracks spun on BBC 1Xtra and Reprezent Radio. She has also been featured in Notion, Complex, Trench Magazine, Link Up TV, Mixtape Madness and has even received praise from rapper Nines for covering his song ‘Clout’ on Instagram. 

Arriving with hypnotic visuals which Imoni directed and co-edited, her delicate vocal entices the listener into a darker realm of R&B, where she exudes empowerment and determination for her music to be heard.

Speaking more on the release, IMONI says, 

“‘Hypnotized’ is about making people listen, and finding a balance between my darker sound and a vibe that people can connect to more easily. I’ve really thought about ways to captivate people with this track and visuals, and feel like it’s created a power that’s present in this work. I’m excited to be cementing my sound and re-introducing myself as an artist.”
