Young Thuku Bridgewater - Easter Sunday (Single)

Young Thuku Bridgewater is a multi talented songwriter and artist from Virginia, who is breaking through the realism of what it takes to be a modern day artist. Expressing a smooth delivery and concoction of genres ranging from hip-hop and rap to R&B, Thuku has been experimenting with everything in between, and the result is hugely impressive. He has started to find a knack for creating melodically flowing hooks and beats, and it makes for a hugely catchy and rhythmic offering that is experimental and intriguing from the off.

Promoting positivity and well being is his priority as an artist to relate to and invest in, and since his fast arrival earlier this year, he has quickly released his debut project, called ‘SweetWater’. A 9 track alum, Young Thuku Bridgewater really puts forward his sonic direction in these tracks. Lead single ‘Easter Sunday’ is the perfect introduction to his craft, the track is vibrant and exotic, with a constant echo chamber of different vocals and then Thuku switches so seamlessly between singing and rapping, with the autotune effect being executed perfectly throughout.

A modern day poet, Thuku focuses on his lyricism which is potent and relevant. The song possesses a real hip-hop presence with R&B sensibilities with the exotic rhythms, and hits that sweet spot in between all the genres aforementioned. There are interesting and evocative vocals that keep the listener on edge and brings a real dance-like aura to proceedings.

He says that “Easter Sunday to me is an expression of spacetime; where all worry, emotions and fear quell. The only thing present is awareness, waves and bliss.”
