FelixThe1st ft: 8Ruki - Lullaby (Official Video)
West-London musician FelixThe1st starts the year with his new single ‘Lullaby’ alongside French-rapper 8Ruki.
Felix brings rising talent 8Ruki into his sonic universe for a fusion of bilingual rap as they trade thoughts on the prospect of romance.
Following his recent triumph in winning ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2022 MOBO Awards, Felix takes to the Parisian for the VHS-led video shot by close collaborator Liam James (Axel Arigato, Trapstar).
The release arrives ahead of 8Ruki’s forthcoming 12-leg tour of France, including a Paris headline at Le Trabendo. Furthering plans of expanding his European fanbase of his own, Felix connected with Spanish artist Sam Davies for Jersey club-inspired single ‘Me Faltas’ last month. “Ruki was an artist who stood out to me in the Paris scene, so we planned a session for when I landed. We always planned to return to film the video, which came together with the help of all the people we met on the first trip and Liam. Also, shout out to the stylist Annat, who pulled together some sick looks for this one and Virginie on the stills!”
Felix’s initial taste of the industry came at 15 years old, having created opportunities to perform as a dancer alongside Stormzy, Years & Years, Jungle, and The Spice Girls. Following years of progressively experimenting with songs of his own, a seamless transition from dance to music began in 2018 when he built a network of producers to help construct a sound of his own. His new alias of ‘FelixThe1st’ - courtesy of his cat-like reflexes - came alongside the birth of a stand-alone artist who identified himself with face paint, a nod to his love for WWE. His breakout single, ‘Own Brand (Freestyle)’ alongside Dreya Mac introduced him to the world on a significant scale, earning him peak chart position #64, viral Tik-Tok moments and more recently a prestigious MOBO Award for Song Of The Year.
