J1UP - Run It Up (Official Video)

Dagenham-hailing drill artist on the rise J1UP is releasing a fresh track for the new season entitled “Run It Up”. The song is his third release so far since he started his music career this summer which he has been carefully developing with consistent releases and music videos.

“Run It Up” is an introspective look into J1UP’s personal life and what goes on behind the music, serving as a scalpel to dissect his dexterous pengame and the stories that fuel his artistry. Unlike his previous gritty releases “LATE” and “Outside G’s”, he opens up on “Run It Up’s” melodic beat and uses a slower paced flow to paint the picture of his life story.

The song was born during a time when the East-London rapper was juggling with family issues, money problems and endless run-ins with the police. On the brink of being sentenced to jail he had to make a series of decisions to prepare himself for what was about to come, which he openly discusses on his new release.

J1UP is a self taught artist, producer and engineer who started dubbing with music as a child in his dad's home studio. Surrounded by music and witnessing the creation process from an early age, he fell in love with the craft when he started secretly recording himself and showing his music to his friends.

With a similar fanbase as established drill artists DoRoad, Izzpot and SWiTCH, J1UP is mainly supported by a predominantly London based male audience. Despite the fact he is a young artist, his listenership is equally formed of fans aged between 18 and 34 which suggests how impactful and relatable his music is.
