Up-and-coming UK rapper Formz puts online haters in their place on his defiant new single ‘Keyboard Warriors’ out on 20th October.

‘Keyboard Warriors’ is a tongue-in-cheek drill track that pokes good-natured fun at internet trolls. Formz wrote the track after an appearance on Sky Sports to do a summary rap about last season’s Premier League lead to a torrent of abuse from football fans.

Formz’s natural response was to channel his response into his music: he hopped in the studio with R14 (Potter Payper, Clavish, D-Block Europe, Nines) and wrote ‘Keyboard Warriors’, a shameless flex on people who hide behind their computer screens to troll others.

“‘Keyboard Warriors’ is a song fuelled by exactly that. I’m known online for my passion for football and when invited to perform a summary rap about last season’s premier league on Sky Sports news, Twitter decided to do its thing and rip me to shreds. Resilience on my side, I took to the studio and clapped back the only way I know how… bars.”

He adds, “Instead of playing the victim, this time I decided to flex on my trolls by telling them exactly how well my life’s going right now. I flipped the script! While they hide behind a keyboard I’m out here living my dream.”

Embodying the message of ‘Keyboard Warriors’, Formz is undertaking a school tour running across autumn and into winter talking to thousands of children about his experiences of being an influencer, online abuse and music.

Anyone in the market for a new best friend is in for a treat when they discover rap newcomer, Formz. Bringing every one of his followers behind the scenes on his journey is central to who Formz is. It’s also the key to his online success where he has amassed over 850K followers across Tik Tok and Instagram with his high energy and experimental approach to content.

Building his musical empire is the obvious next step for Formz, assuring us with absolute confidence he’ll be following in the footsteps of contemporaries like Stormzy and Aitch in playing to sold-out arenas. While still a new project, it’s clear that Formz is starting on the front foot. He sold out his debut headline show at Camden Assembly last year with plans to follow up this year with a second headline. His early releases earned him over a million streams on DSPs and this summer he’s worked with some of the UK’s most exciting producers, including Nastylgia, R14 and Roddy Beatz. Wherever Formz is heading, there’s no doubt it’s his unmatched self-confidence and magnetic energy that are going to take him there.
