Proph - Trust Fall (Official VIdeo)
South London rapper Proph delivers new single ‘Trust Fall’ following his recent performance in BET Hip Hop Awards 2023 cypher. Underlining his creative depth, Proph blends melodic finesse with serenading wordplay across a self-produced guitar-laden instrumental. The 20-year-old’s personal development is reflected in the track - a habit that comes naturally to him - showcasing natural flair through his storytelling ability that offers an insight into his full potential. ‘Trust Fall’ is an instinctive sonic shift that sees Proph experiment with a Hip-Hop, R&B crossover creating bedroom intimacy as he aims to build on his ever-evolving listenership.
Proph, is the abbreviated version of the name given to him by his grandfather at birth. That name (Prophet) has defined his destiny ever since, and the 20-year-old South Londoner is already on course to lead UK rap to the promised land and beyond. Teenage dreams of becoming an author saw Proph’s early scribblings transform into lyrics and fully-fledged songs, but they always retained a storytelling edge and have now become a hallmark, which can be heard across Proph’s discography. The versatility extends far beyond the lyrical mastery and the vocal range, Proph is an entirely self-taught/self-produced artist. Proph produced every track on his debut EP ‘Lost In Translation’, a monumental moment in his journey so far and will almost certainly lend his talents to executive producing once he reigns supreme as a solo artist. This reign had already begun with bookings nationwide at Wireless, Nass and Reading & Leeds festivals. International bookings were soon to follow, the Sziget Festival in Hungary has played host to Proph as well. Peers and contemporaries alike have been paying attention too; Proph supported J.I The Prince of N.Y on his UK tour, and opened up for Avelino’s headline show earlier this year. The co-signs don’t stop there, the likes of Wretch 32, Kenny Allstar, Stormzy, and Popcaan have all given him their approval. He also featured on the BET Hip Hop Awards 2023 cypher alongside Ghetts, Jordy and more to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop. 2024 is set to be his Jordan year.
Proph will be performing on 30th November at Clash’s Next Up Showcase alongside the likes of Cristale, Slew and more.
