A boy named ROSA unveils his debut project today, 'FEMALE,'; a thought-provoking exploration of modern dating and courtship. As a self-taught singer, songwriter, rapper, and composer, ROSA defies genre norms, blending alternative R&B with hip-hop and mainstream pop aesthetics. Unafraid to show vulnerability, ROSA challenges stereotypes of masculinity, addressing mental health issues and struggles. 'FEMALE' is a mosaic of relief, regret, longing, and resentment, offering an honest and transparent glimpse into his emotional world. Listen here.

His recent track “She Belongs to the Show (Part 2),” came out last week as the first offering from his debut project. It celebrates the modern-day woman who lives her life on her own accord and unapologetically does whatever she wants. It serves as a subtle cautionary tale for those still viewing a significant other or a love interest as something than can be ‘owned’. The accompanying stunning video is directed by ROSA and Liza Koifman, a burgeoning Dutch filmmaker whose short film “Vlinders” was selected by the Dutch Film Festival in 2020.

In 2020, ROSA released three singles and visuals, each serving as a precursor to the now completed 'FEMALE.' Noteworthy mentions include 'BLOW,' with a visual that received rave reviews, and 'Eye Candy,' surpassing 1.1 million streams on Spotify. Even 'Drunk Girls' struck a relatable chord, accumulating 1.2 million streams.

Zooming in on ROSA's strengths—visual songwriting, infectious choruses, and a distinct vocal tone—'FEMALE' reflects the insecurities and uncertainties of adulthood in the digital age. The tracklist, featuring songs like "Indie Flick," "Picky," and "She Belongs to the Show (Part 2)," mirrors the emotional rollercoaster of love, lust, and ego.

The album cover, photographed by Burundian model and LGBTQ+ activist Nella Ngingo, symbolises ROSA's inherent need for female love and care. Holding an old issue of XXL Magazine with JAY Z on the cover, ROSA signals his inspiration to carve his path, just like his idol.

Get ready for a journey into the heart and mind of ROSA. 'FEMALE' is more than an album—it's a testament to vulnerability, resilience, and the art of self-discovery.
