Gaby K - I’m Good (Official VIdeo)
Following the success of her single ‘What Have I Done’ which landed high praise from the likes of Earmilk, Spindle, Wordplay Magazine, Ones To Watch and many more, London R&B singer-songwriter Gaby K returns with her stunning new single ‘I’m Good’, out everywhere on 16 November.
The track is the latest single from her upcoming debut EP ‘Get To Love You’, set for release on 9 February.
Naming artists like Amy Winehouse, Jessie Reyez and Amber Mark as her biggest inspirations, Gaby draws from her combined influences, as well as elements of R&B, soul and pop to create her distinctively emotive sound, all wrapped up in her sultry, honey-soaked vocals.
Praised for her natural gift as a songwriter and storyteller, ‘I’m Good’ tells the all too familiar feeling of falling out of love with someone over time. Speaking of the track, she says, “This track was really easy to write but really hard to listen to. It’s about the moment you realise you’re falling out of love with someone, not feeling heard or appreciated anymore and knowing that you and your partner have just become very different people.
I wrote this after I ended my relationship, describing that feeling of subconsciously knowing it was slowly coming to an end and I was tired of being unhappy, unfulfilled and was having to accept the fact that we were done. I think that sometimes relationships have an expiry date and they just run their course. It’s not always one individual's fault, it’s just that over the years you become different people and it's not right anymore. I want listeners to take away that it’s okay to be okay with your decision of leaving someone, it's okay to be sad about ending a relationship with the individual who you thought was ‘your person’ and it’s okay to feel relief that the relationship has ended and you can thrive as an individual yourself.”
