Born Armstrong Orock, ArmstrongWW is an Alternative Hip-Hop/Soul artist based in Houston, Texas. His mission is centred around an on-going crusade to liberate his birth country of Cameroon, Africa using music as his medium.

His 2022 single ‘Call You?’ via Melting Pot Music (home to FloFilz, Jake Milliner, Summers Sons) saw him gain support from Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1 and other tastemakers across the globe. He now unveils his self-produced EP ‘Thinking In Color’, charting new sonic territories for this talented vocalist / producer.

With each track having been built from scratch in his small, modest home studio, ‘Thinking In Colour’ follows the story of a young free thinker, exploring the complex world of emotion. When asked about the genesis of his art, he states “I craft my music to inspire free thinking because it’s the main thing being limited in any situation where someone is controlled.”

Over sparse piano motifs and playful drum programming ArmstrongWW delivers a series of truly original vocal performances, channelling bedroom pop sensibilities colliding with left-field psychedelic rap flavours. Expertly layered vocal harmonies take centre stage on first single ‘Usually’, with a quick fire delivery punctuating a stripped back instrumental soundtracks Armstrong wrestling with the monotony of responsibility and pondering an escape from the drudgery. Second single ‘More To Life’ sees poignant lyrics sitting atop heartfelt chord progression is the audial representation of opening the window on a sunny morning, taking a deep breath before dealing with what the day brings. With several self-directed videos bringing an infectious sense of Armstrong’s personality to the project, ‘Thinking In Color’ is a breath of fresh air, and a beautiful example of letting creativity take centre stage.
