Gadz - Cold World (Official Video)
Up-and-coming Luton-hailing artist GADZ is ready to round up the year with his sophomore single entitled “Cold World”. The 18-year-old artist marked the beginning of his career earlier this year with his debut single “Fadeaway” and is now ready to follow up with a second release accompanied by an introspective video hosted by GRM Daily entitled “Cold World”.
The track is an insight into GADZ’s life experiences as the heartfelt melodies and reflective bars showcase the reality of the world that he lives in, shining a light over the harsh aspects of life in the hood and the burning desire of making it out of it. “Cold World '' features an infectious, melodic hook laid down on a mellow beat which is smoothly contrasted by GADZ’s raspy vocals. The song is an expression of the young artist’s perspective over the world that he lives in and also a sonic statement of his artist identity.
GADZ’s love for music stems from his childhood and it is deeply rooted within the early memories he has with his father, a music teacher and enthusiast, who encouraged him to learn how to play various instruments.
His musical journey, however, started as a young teenager in school. Drawn by music he’d spend most of his nights listening to drill beats and coming up with short freestyles that he’d then show his friends in school the next day. Intrigued to learn new flows and come up with sharper punchlines GADZ continued to hone his skills and two years ago he stepped in the studio for the first time to record a song with one of his friends.
Since then he has performed at the O2 Academy in Islington twice, got nominated for Best Performance by RBE and took part in BL@CKBOCK’s U18s Cypher 2022 which also secured him numerous performances across Bedfordshire. His success was followed by the release of his debut single entitled “Fadeaway” on Valentine’s Day this year which was co-signed by radio presenter Theo Johnson who played it on BBC Introducing.
Although he has only been active within the music space for less than two years, GADZ is rising rapidly in the scene as his talent is being recognised by fans across the UK, Australia and Germany. As his music continues to acquire more supporters GADZ’s audience tends to be male dominated and consist of listeners older than him (23-27 y.o) which demonstrates his relatability and authenticity as an artist, making him the one to watch as his career keeps unfolding.
