Ego Ella May - Liminal Space (Official Video)
Award-winning British-Nigerian singer-songwriter and musician Ego Ella May reveals the visual for “Liminal Space” (directed by Edoardo Cimatti), taken from her new EP “FIELDNOTES PT III”, out now. “FIELDNOTES PT III” marks the final chapter of her critically acclaimed "FIELDNOTES" series.
Speaking on the track, Ego Ella May say’s “Liminal space is a term I learnt in therapy and it’s about feeling stuck in the middle. Knowing too much to turn back, but not feeling confident enough to move forward just yet. I wrote it about a relationship I was trying to work through, but there have been so many other instances where I’ve found myself in this liminal space and it really feels like intense growing pains! I made this song with Sam Posener (“How Long 'Til We're Home”) in 2020, but we brought it back to life at the start of this year on a writing retreat with my band, and I’m so pleased with how it's turned out. It's one of my faves on the EP”.
Ego Ella May will be performing specially crafted jazz versions of her original material at London’s world-famous jazz club, Ronnie Scott’s, on 28th February, tickets go on sale Monday 18th December here. Additionally, catch Ego Ella May live in 2024 at London’s Brick Lane Jazz Festival.
