Finn Foxell - Round Here (Official Video)

Shepherds Bush rapper-singer Finn Foxell ends the year on a high with his new single, ‘Round Here’. The song is an ode to growing up in West London and nods to Finn’s inner child, uncovering his interpersonal relationships with himself, his family and his journey through love and heartbreak. Produced by Dom Valentino, 'Round Here' is led by a strong guitar riff, tapping into Finn's love of live instrumentation and unleashing his unruly energy. Teaming up with director Jasmina Wood for the video, Finn makes it a Foxell family affair. Depicting how experiences and people have made him the man he is, Finn enlists his nearest and dearest and some of his Elevation Meditation collective, including Lord Apex. The visual is split between present-day Finn enjoying conversations around the dinner table and getting a haircut by his mum, and his younger self - played by his nephew - who is up to no good making trouble around the city with his friends. The end of the video is a beautiful sequence that puts a spotlight on Finn’s loved ones and pays homage to his community. When Jasmina (director) spoke about the video, she mentioned:

““Round Here” is a very nostalgic track. I aimed for the visuals to evoke a cheeky sentiment and bring back memories of being a kid in London. Growing up in London is unlike growing up in any other city, it is filled with unique challenges for inner-city kids that shape our adulthood. I can relate to that, and I hope anyone watching can too. Finn and I chose to feature his real family, friends, his actual house, and the local area. The group of young lads were Finn's nephew and his friends who had never been on screen before. There is a genuine energy between them – we couldn't have faked that.”

Music has always been Finn’s love language, and the Shepherd's Bush native has been surrounded by it as early as he can remember. Coming from a musical family, Finn’s dad is a songwriter, his brother was heavily involved in the Grime scene, and his mum was a performer, so he has never known anything different. Finn grew up on the likes of The Clash and Sex Pistols as well as Giggs and The Streets, and over the past few years, has perfectly married the best of both influences. Still, only 25-year-old Finn is channelling his lived experiences, which have transpired into a more fluid sound. Friends and family have always been at the heart of everything Finn does, and he is also a proud member of Elevation Mediation (P-Rallel, Lord Apex, Xav and Louis Culture), one of London’s most pioneering collectives.

2023 was an important year for Finn as he became laser-focused on finishing his debut album, which he’s eager to share with the world. Finn had his debut performance at Glastonbury this year, highlighted by The Guardian, and a stand-out set at this year's Boomtown.
