Nix Northwest - Problems (Official Video)

London rapper, producer and multi-instrumentalist Nix Northwest releases new single 'Problems' ahead of his forthcoming album 'Xin's Disappearance' due 15th March.

The self-directed video introduces a new dynamic showcasing Nix's visual storytelling reflecting the importance of money in society, vices, and the overindulgence that follows. The 26-year-old’s charming blend of instrumentation is seasoned with strong Brazilian influences and off-beat guitar sequences. Nix is close to selling out his forthcoming tour, which will see him visit Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Brighton, and his London headline at Lafayette.

"Problems is a song about not wanting to fall into the trap of spending a life chasing money while also knowing that without it you can be very restricted. It's about finding that balance between an ego-driven desire to acquire more than enough wealth but also stay grounded and being aware that there is a certain level you need to live comfortably and survive."

Nix Northwest's love for music began from a young age; inspired by his dad, a guitarist, and his mum's impeccable musical taste, he started his musical pilgrimage with piano lessons. Although he flirted with writing as the years went by, when Nix attended Leeds College of Music, his music career began to take shape. He met friends, counterparts, and later collaborators such as Lausse The Cat and B-ahwe, who helped push his musical skill and artistry. He arrived with his debut project, 'Life's a Bitch, I Just Need An Early Night' in late 2019, driven by his Jazz-laden strand of Hip-Hop, which saw him gain fans of all genres, a core following that eagerly awaits his every move. The forthcoming album, 'Xin's Disappearance' is made by Nix himself - from the songwriting to the instrumentation, the compositions to the engineering - creating a broad, layered masterstroke that symbolically gazes inwards, pondering on life's joy and strife.

Nix initiated his album campaign with his recent single 'Sun In My Eyes', which was applauded by BBC 1Xtra's DJ Target, Radio 1's Chillest Show, COLORS, Complex, and Notion. The forthcoming album sees Nix draw on his past childhood and adult experiences to conceptualise a mysterious and cinematic world that centres around his narrator Xin, a character who can be seen as a reflection of himself. With the UK Rap scene at an all-time high, Nix hopes to make his own mark with 'Xin's Disappearance' as the driving force. As he continues to gear up for the album and tour, Nix has one final surprise in store for his ever-evolving fanbase.
