Lusaint - Dark Horse (Single)

Lusaint releases her debut original single ‘Dark Horse’, a crooning pop jam for fans of Joy Crookes, Arlo Parks and Amy Winehouse.

Growing up in Stretford, Greater Manchester, Lusaint never thought a career in music was possible. Fast forward, and she has dispelled her own theory; her music has clocked up up tens of millions of global streams, and 2023 will see the release her debut original material – a pop sound inspired by the Motown, jazz and blues records she grew up listening to, with her timeless voice placed front and centre, and additional credits from producer Blue May (Kano, Joy Crookes, Loyle Carner).

After a stint of gigging in bars and restaurants and uploading covers online, in 2019, everything changed for a Lusaint. Her cover of ‘More Than Friends’ (En Vogue ‘Don’t Let Go’) was discovered by a Love Island music supervisor, subsequently airing on the show and being crowned the most Shazam’d song in one day in the UK with over 45,000 Shazams. Since then, Lusaint has racked up over 20 million streams globally with her music and support from BBC 6 Music, Radio X and BBC Introducing. Her acoustic covers of Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy In Love’ and ‘Wicked Game’ by Chris Isaak have drawn much attention with the latter hitting over 3 million YouTube views.

Last year Lusaint also dipped her toe into the dance world, making her debut outing as a featured artist with Franky Wah on ‘Find Out Who We Are’ and receiving support from tastemakers across the board at BBC Radio 1.
