27Delly returns with a six-track R&B inspired EP titled Wake Up, admonishing us that he his not one to be slept on. Each track accommodates emotions of love, despair, drive, and impermanence, allowing all listeners to live within the moment of the thirteen minute album.

Hit The Town ignites the album, with the OG-style flow that we all love and know from the Harlem-based artist. Delly narrates his lifestyle with the habitual bassline that usually accompanies his pieces as a starting point, but drives far away from his comfort zone for the remainder of each track. Influenced and stimulated by elements of Caribbean fusion in the following song Gimme That, melodic vocals and romanticised lyrics entice us as listeners to tune in for the rest of the album, intrigued with what flow and style may come next.

Each ensuing song expressively defies what we thought we knew about 27Delly, with TRAVI jumping on Lambo on Fire in order to reinforce the strong continuance of Delly’s past bars, followed by another tranquil, harmonious R&B style song titled Wicked Games.

The bifurcated categories assert the multifarious nature of 27Delly, as well as where he can take you sonically as an artist. With past releases featuring as a sold out NFT in the form of a music video, Delly’s creativity is limitless, illustrated through the completely contrasting yet astonishing approach that he takes on this album comparable to his past more upbeat releases.
