Syo - get you some (Official Video)

"get you some," is an R&B song that shares a story about coming to terms with sacrifice and how wanting more for yourself can force you to make sacrifices. In the song, he talks about wanting to travel with friends, wanting to flex sometimes, and feeling talented, but ultimately being broke.

This song is taken from Syo’s new EP, ‘Table Manners’ which is a multi-layered project mainly centered around the idea of comparison and wanting what others have based solely on perception. Throughout the project, he compares the idea to looking at someone else’s plate and comparing who has what. He uses the concept of food as a metaphor for many different struggles. ‘Table Manners’ is about reflection and learning to appreciate what’s on your plate.

Syo is a classic name that draws its power from his Nigerian roots ."Yo"being the latter half of his middle name, while the "s" and "o" simultaneously serves as his initials, and the "y" being the tree that connects him "s" to his Nigerian "family" "o".

His lyricism allows others to virtually experience those emotions. Influenced by Lauryn Hill, Kendrick Lamar, and the unconventional hip-hop sounds of Outkast, So integrates all of the passion he feels to make his music style his own.
