PREMIERE: Frankie Worrall ft: Confucius MC + MazeyJune - Don’t Fear (Official Video)
“Don’t Fear” is the new single from producer and songwriter Frankie Worrall. The track features vocals from Confucius MC (also of Con n Kwake) and MazeyJune (known for her previous single with Frankie ‘Sun Outside’). It also includes bass from Cornish producer Crispy, and flute from Biscuit of legendary London band Speakers Corner Quartet (noted for their recent single ft Sampha).
The song is dedicated to Frankie’s Mum Angela, and marks three years since her passing in March 2020. The instrumental was composed by Frankie shortly after her passing, from her artists studio down in Cornwall. Frankie put the track together with Con and Mazey upon returning to London. It is an ode to the universality of loss, and grief that we all experience, but also a celebration of life and it’s many phases. Con’s perspective as a recent father adds to this feeling of rebirth, and energy continuing through community and collaboration.
The song features animation and cover art by Bristol based artist Alice Dunn Ribeiro, and is inspired by Angela’s work as a multi-media artist, primarily working with textiles and embroidery.
The single is taken from the upcoming EP from Frankie ‘For the Lost…’ which features contributions from Confucius MC, MazeyJune, Kemastry, Maddy, and Verbz. The EP will be available May 7th via The Low, which also marks Frankie’s 25th birthday. A debut EP reflecting the artist’s coming of age and maturity.
The Low is an independent record label, and media channel curated by Verbz & Frankie Worrall. Inspired by Verbz’ EP of the same name, The Low aims to explore the intersection between alternative hip hop, indie music, and electronica. A space for a new generation of artists to experiment, The Low launched last year with the Verbz single ‘Uncertain’, and has a schedule of releases planned for 2023 starting with Frankie’s EP. More announcements to follow in the near future.
