Leo Lore - Belly (Single)

Living up to Clash Magazine’s endorsement of “innately classic, yet also future facing”, Leo Lore once again calls on retro influences while adding his signature contemporary twist in latest release ‘Belly’.

Ethereal backing vocals loom over Belly’s crisp and steady groove deftly blending with Leo’s raw, soulful lead.

Leo continues his collaboration with long time mate and producer Mikey Shaw (Dub Cavern) after ‘Measure’, Released last December the track was picked up by Gemma Bradley on BBC R1 and BBC R6 who also invited Leo to perform on the Radio 1 Great Escape Showcase Stage in 2022 on the back of his debut body of work ‘Blue Print’.

In Leo’s words: ‘’Belly's basically about missing someone you know isn't good for you. I think because it's so rare we find these deeper connections with people, it's easy to look past it sometimes... and it gets you in trouble. I was listening to a lot of Lovers’ Rock at the time and feel like there's so much beauty in how simple, raw and honest it is, and I just wanted to create something in the same vein to celebrate that inspiration, and I knew teaming up with Mikey (Dub Cavern) again would be my best bet to get that sound down.’’
