As previously announced, New York rapper billy woods and LA producer Kenny Segal will release their new collaborative album Maps on 5th May via Backwoodz Studioz and tour together for the first time in support of the project.

The pair now share further details of Maps, including a heavy-hitting list of guests, and the lonesome opening single, FaceTime featuring Samuel T. Herring of Future Islands.

Reflecting on recording his contribution to the song, Herring says: "It was late summer 2022 and most days I was stuck in my hotel room wondering what was happening with my life…. All of that being on the road and living remotely, feeling alienated, alone, missing people back home, but also feeling at home living that way - I understood it deeply…. That song is my life and I was living in it.”

In addition to Samuel T. Herring, Maps — which follows woods and Segal's landmark 2019 debut, Hiding Places — features Danny BrownELUCID (Armand Hammer), Shabaka HutchingsQuelle ChrisAesop RockBenjamin Booker and ShrapKnel.  Inspired by journeys, Maps is the story of the road. “Neither of us wanted to make Hiding Places 2.  We needed to go on other journeys, artistic and otherwise, to come back and do something fresh,” says woods.  “I think we both like to paint a picture,” Segal muses.  ”Him with words, and me with sound.”

Fittingly, given the themes explored in Maps, woods and Segal will be touring throughout May and June, including dates in LA, New York, London and Amsterdam.
