In the two years since the release of her debut project 'Colour Me', MADELEINE has been quietly developing her sound. After revealing her new sonic palette with singles 'Hold Her' & 'See Me Too', she's now ready to share her 'Sun Daughter' EP.

An emerging player in the nu-jazz and UK soul scene, MADELEINE is a singer, songwriter and producer taking influence from the progressive electronics of Flying Lotus and Kiefer, whilst showcasing the tuneful sensibilities of songwriters Lianne La Havas and Stevie Wonder. With support already from Jazz FM, BBC Introducing and WordPlay, she's also a celebrated session musician, touring the world as keyboardist for the likes of Arlo Parks, Poppy Ajudha and Kwaku Asante. The influences of those travels can be heard across 'Sun Daughter', which provides snapshots of the sonics of late night drives across the USA set against naturalistic imagery and soulful, jazz-tinged songwriting.

The project is centred around the recurrent themes of self-love, femininity, and dealing with trauma. Musically, it stems from a place of healing and cleansing through nature, using lyrical imagery of the sun, light, and openness. These themes are complimented with expansive synth sounds, rich harmony and soaring vocal arrangements, creating a compelling sound world to get lost in.

'The EP follows the success of singles 'Hold Her' & 'See Me Too', which found support from The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland Magazine and We Are Soul, as well as Jazz FM, Reprezent Radio & BBC Introducing. To celebrate the EP release, MADELEINE will be performing at 91 Living Room on the 20th April.

Sun Daughter holds my most honest work, and while I reveal some of my darkest corners, it’s also infused with warmth and hopefulness. It embodies a feeling of love, light, power, and openness, and documents me learning to grow into my femininity, and find my most centred- self.
