The mixtape swiftly follows the launch of French The Kid’s brand new single and music video “Notice Me”, released yesterday and directed by Teezy. French takes centre stage in a shuttered warehouse space, natural light blaring through the window slits. The scattered darting rays of light silhouette his compelling performance amidst crackling VHS screens and peering surveillance cameras.

Listeners were initially introduced to the project with “Snow”, a hard-hitting track, layered with haunting strings and wavering synths, French The Kid expertly weaves emotive and authentic verses over deep 808 subs and the contrasting, dreamlike melodies. “White Wine” was a change-up of energy, boasting quickfire lyricism and over sturdy drill basslines and skittering hats. “Single Player” saw the burgeoning talent contemplate feelings of loneliness, and the importance of close friendship-ties through his layered and harmonic hooks. Most recent release, “Quiet Kid” is enamoured with sombre piano tones and cavernous drumwork, anthemic strings and shuffling drumwork duck and weave beneath French’s caustic flows.

“‘No Signal’ for me represents exactly where I am right now. From the subject matter to the beat selection and creation, i think you're going to really enjoy playing it from beginning to end” French The Kid

French The Kid’s ever-climbing presence in the UK scene is impossible to ignore; his Daily Duppy freestyle has racked up 20 million views and counting, reeling off a string of bi-lingual (he can effortlessly switch between English and French), wordplay-heavy verses that turned heads around the country.  The versatility of this multifaceted talent shines through without fail; the Essex-born artist is as comfortable singing hooks and producing tracks as he is raining fire on beats with infernal delivery.
