Komposa ft: MĀDŁY, Griz-O, Rider Shafique, Slowie + Axel Holy - Mad (Official Video)
Capitalising on a new swell of deserved recognition, Komposa returns with a monster sized collab which bangs on a whole new level. With most recent singles ‘D.O.H (Different Over Here)’ and ‘Real’ gaining Radio 1Xtra airplay and hot off the heels of his BBC Introducing tour dates at the end of 2022, Komposa is starting ’23 strong. This next offering already has already been the focus of BBC Introducing In The West’s Spotlight Artist 2 weeks ahead of its release.
Coming about initially as the product of a new creative link forged between K and Midlands namebrand Filthy Gears (production credits include P Money, Wiley, Jammz), ‘Mad’ quickly spiralled into something big. On first listen to the instrumental, Komposa knew he wanted to do something mad with it and, in his own words, ‘Had the idea to get a few avengers involved and bring back the 8 bar rally style track.”
The resulting mob of features that formed would put most team ups to shame. Keeping things international by way of Paris, multifaceted talent MĀDŁY laces the track with a uniquely catchy hook. Repping Gloucester, rising lyricist Griz-O and legendary soundman Rider Shafique leave their distinctive mark. Completing the squad, Bristol grime king Slowie and fellow local hero Axel Holy (AKA Baileys Brown) body verses in the name of the town that Komposa now calls home.
Beyond the weight of the assembled lyricists, the instrumental hits hard with the best of new era grime. With the inclusion of some ravey synths reminiscent of The Prodigy, the finished product is an animal of a tune primed for club and radio rotation.
With visual shot on location in Bristol by Dfacer, ‘Mad’ is out now on the on the Brain Scran Records imprint. Watch out for more from the label and from Komposa and Filthy Gears landing imminently.
