WIINSTON - THE LAST DAYTONA (Album)

THE LAST DAYTONA’ is the result of reflection, maturity and refinement–a personal and creative journey by the multi-faceted RnB-pop duo! The new album by WIINSTON is out along with the vibey new single, ‘tick in blue’, on April 27th Following a four-year album hiatus, WIINSTON is finally back with ‘THE LAST DAYTONA’–the new LP by the independent Copenhagen-based RnB-pop duo.

“A lot of things have happened since our last album–both personally and creatively. We’ve been in bloom, withered again and found ourselves in the creation of what feels more powerful and right than anything we’ve ever done. This album is the perfect picture of how we currently define WIINSTON; as a genre-fluid space with no limitations.” The first official single of the new album was ‘care4’. It was released in January, along with a squid-licious video. Met by praise from international culture sites like Kaltblut Magazine in Germany, ENFNTS Terribles inBelgium and Variance Magazine in the US. With the album, WIINSTON is sharing the lead single, ‘tick in blue’; a reflection of society's obsession with social media. “I’m in the afterlife U don’t even know what that's like Cuz all u care about is whenever this shit’ll go viralI got a tick in blue maybe it’ll save u some time“. “Smartphones have become an extension of what it means to be human. Somehow, it seems like a generation gap is missing, where we're trying to adapt to the wrong paradigms. Even adults are waiting for their 10 sec videos to go viral while the Arctic is melting faster than the ice cubes in their freshly mixed gin & tonic. Provocative? Sure! But we’re also well aware, that when you point the finger at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you, ”WIINSTON says when speaking of the topic on the vibey new single.

WIINSTON aka singer Daniel Richards and producer Alfred Thomas have become notoriously known for spontaneously changing their game and never sucking up to the business our musical tendencies but always striving to challenge their own artistic limits on ambitious, alluring and colourful songs and albums. With the release of ‘THE LAST DAYTONA’, WIINSTON are rolling out their 3rd album. It follows up on the acoustically dreamy, ‘JELLYFISH’, that dropped in 2019, not to mention the darker, urban-infused, ‘MIDNIGHT ROCKET’, the year before, which included their breakthrough single, ‘Angelina’.
