Festival season has official begun
We are hosting again this year at The Great Escape

Below are some of the acts from our stage

When it comes to Ash Olsen, “not your average rapper” is something of an understatement. Most of the press surrounding the fast-rising 22-year-old Norwegian makes light of this, and with good reason. Born and raised on a farm in rural Fredrikstad, an hour south of Oslo, skateboarding was her passion as a young teen; music barely featured. But one listen to Tupac’s ‘Only God Can Judge Me’ changed her life; she went home, rapped along to it on YouTube, and was instantly hooked. She hasn’t stopped rhyming since.

The self-proclaimed “S-travagant Man” Saiming, is an alternative UK rap artist from South London. Saiming gels together the intricately fast-paced rhythms of a grime MC over a range of mellow-toned, sample-centred, bass-heavy instrumentals to create a contemporary yet familiar sonic blend. Saiming’s debut single ‘Saiming Says’ helped him to get his feet firmly on the starting blocks in late 2019. The effect of the track’s upbeat mood and creative punchlines are evident in its relative success, amassing over 10,000 streams on Spotify alone without a video or advertising.

SuperJazzClub is a Ghanaian creative collective consisting of artists/producers/filmmakers and DJs. Formed in 2018 in Accra, the members, who were then friends, came together to express themselves creatively and share ideas as a collective. With different creative interests, they sought to exploit their varying backgrounds to build a unit that was cohesive in thinking, yet diverse in style.

Growing up in Chicago – after hopping between New York, Haiti, Oklahoma and Miami – SEB has come a long way from free-styling over beats ripped from YouTube with his middle school rap group. Returning to New York for college, he interned at the iconic Electric Lady Studios where brief brushes with artistic giants spurred SEB on to seriously consider his artist project and make the move to LA.

Dublin-raised alt-rap up-and-comer, KhakiKid, has had a lightning-fast start to life as a musician.

Growing up on Crumlin estate, the 22-year-old shared a bedroom with his three siblings, all of which had different interests that steered far away from music. But, after his brother showed him the ropes with a 50 Cent CD, everything became clear. Whilst his sound has constantly evolved over his short career so far, the content has been anything but copycat-ish. Take last year’s hit single “Wait”: a jazz-infused record that vouches for nothing but confidence and raw talent that suggests a musical scope far above his peers that have been in the game for the same stretch.
