Fresh from releasing his last EP “Dreamers of the Day” in January, “Cantona” comes as the latest single release by Northampton Rapper Nevmore. The track is the lead single for Nevmore’s next project due for release Mid to Late Summer.

After overcoming heartbreak once again, working harder in his personal life than ever due to his personal life and job, Nevmore spills about his one of his favourite football players and his favourite team. Showcasing his ability as storyteller and powerful songwriter, this single marks clear progression within his career. Talking on the themes around the single Nevmore said: “I recently broke up with my ex once again, it’s a common theme that has followed me over the last couple years, I’ve wanted to write a song about Manchester United and one of the players for a while and who better than Eric Cantona”.

The single also includes the appearance of Blah Records artist “Black Josh” who is from Manchester and someone who Nevmore has admired for a long time, speaking on why he went with Josh as the feature, Nev said: “I have been a fan of Josh since 2017 when I was at university and broadening my musical taste and I actually met him in 2022 at the fabric show along with Lee Scott and the rest of Blah Records. Josh is Manchester born and bred and he is also a United fan luckily so I knew he would love this tune”.

The song’s production is handled by Thugs Bunny who has produced Nevmore’s debut mixtape “Wellingborough Road” and a few tracks from “Dreamers of the Day”.

With Cantona set for release on the 26th of May, this is the next step for a massive year for this rising UK rapper with bigger plans later on in the year.
