New York rapper billy woods and LA producer Kenny Segal release new single Soft Landings.

Soft Landings is taken from woods and Segal’s imminent new album, Maps, out Friday 5th May, and follows previous single, FaceTime featuring Samuel T. Herring.

Reflecting on the single’s creation, woods says; "Soft Landings was written and recorded at Kenny's studio, on one of my trips out to LA, midway through working on the project.  By this point, the vibe and perspective of the album had swung more into focus, and I remember telling Kenny we needed a big tune, something that worked in the framework of the album but also stood on its own as just a great song.  It was a big ask considering I was basically asking for it on the spot, but that's one of the things that is special about Kenny, he finds a way, every time.”

Both Soft Landings and Maps are inspired by journeys.  They’re the story of roads, both taken and untaken; of living the dream yet dreaming of another life; about trying to find your way home, after making your home wherever you lay your head.  Maps - which follows the pair's landmark 2019 debut, Hiding Places - also features; Danny Brown, ELUCID (Armand Hammer), Samuel T. Herring (Future Islands), Quelle Chris, Aesop Rock, Benjamin Booker and ShrapKnel.
