billy woods x Kenny Segal - Soft Landing (Official Video)
billy woods and Kenny Segal have released the video for Soft Landing. The travelogue-style visual stars woods and Segal and is co-directed by acclaimed actor Tim Blake Nelson (The Ballard of Buster Scruggs, O Brother Where Art Thou) and his son Henry Nelson.
The new video coincides with the release of woods and Segal's collaborative album Maps, which is out now. Maps follows the pair's landmark debut, Hiding Places, and features Danny Brown, Samuel T. Herring (Future Islands), ELUCID (Armand Hammer), Quelle Chris, Aesop Rock, Benjamin Booker and ShrapKnel.
Both Soft Landing and Maps are inspired by travel and journeys. Fittingly, woods and Segal will be touring throughout May and June, beginning next week in LA - the dates are listed below and tickets on sale now.
Even by his own lofty standards, woods has been on a legendary run in recent years. Since Hiding Places in 2019, he's released five albums, both solo and collaborative: Shrines (2020) and The Alchemist-produced Haram (2021) as one half of Armand Hammer alongside ELUCID; Brass (2020), a collaboration with poet/rapper Moor Mother; and two groundbreaking solo records, Aethiopes (2022) and Church (2022).
Kenny Segal’s mission statement is to make interesting music with interesting people - to date, his credits include material with Freestyle Fellowship, R.A.P. Ferreira, Hemlock Ernst (A.K.A. Samuel T. Herring of Future Islands) and Open Mike Eagle.
