With his exquisite new project, The BLCKOut (EP) Vol. 1, which is set for release on June 9th, the British Caribbean native is finally stepping into the forefront with his own refreshing slant of UK R&B to help push the genre into new dimensions.
Produced, composed, and engineered by XVR BLCK himself, The BLCKOut (EP) Vol. 1 is the first EP in a series of three projects to be released by XVR over the next 12 months that will be showcasing the very best of British Black music in all of its glory. Featuring rising talents, Ryan De La Cruz, SNE, Nicolas Alexander, 1ZerO, and Gimme2Minutes, this first offering is an exciting display of UK R&B music in ways that only XVR can deliver. From his strong statement of intent on opening track ‘Check The Portfolio’, to the infectious summer party starter on lead single ‘Pembeni’, to early fan-favourite on ‘EastSide’, The BLCKOut (EP) Vol. 1 is a musical tour de force from XVR BLCK.
Born and raised in Hackney, XVR BLCK grew up on music created by legendary producers such as Timbaland, DarkChild, Jermaine Dupri, and Kaytranada, which is where he took inspiration from to create his own modern sound that is fundamentally R&B, driven by captivating melodies, and effortlessly fused with varying sounds from drill and rap, to afrobeats and dancehall, to pop and garage. Having been championed by tastemakers such as BBC Radio 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, KISS FM, Spotify, and Apple Music, XVR BLCK is currently on a mission to bring UK R&B music the recognition that it deserves across the world, starting with his series of ‘BLCKOut’ project rolling out over the next 12 months.
