Kasia Konstance - Different Skies (EP)
Rising singer, songwriter, and flautist Kasia Konstance has released her new EP ‘Different Skies’, sharing three tracks of laid back jazz and soul.
Leaning into blissful melancholia, the new EP follows her debut project ‘Cosmic Dust’ in 2021 and reflects varying moods that can change just like the skies. Delivered in Kasia’s soothing and ethereal style which has been supported by BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2, Worldwide FM, Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio and many more, ‘Different Skies’ is a compelling listen that displays her incredible potential as an emerging artist. It also features her recent collaboration with former Ezra Collective member Dylan Jones on ‘Don’t Call Me (On My Birthday)’.
Flowing between themes of gratitude, confusion and insincerity, Kasia Konstance explains the inspiration behind each of the tracks:
“Different Skies EP is a short compilation that portrays different moods. Life is never as simple as we would like it to be, and things can change rapidly, much like the weather. "So Much Better" is a personal appreciation of someone very important in my life. When I started writing this song, I was fighting my insecurities and doubting myself, which can be heard in the verse "You do so much better, but without me, you could have someone better, but you got me(...)." Then ‘Don’t Call Me (On My Birthday)’ confronts those times where people pretend to care only when it is convenient for them, as well as the idea of gaining clarity in life and learning to tune out negative energy or bad vibes. The final track of the EP, "Every Time," discusses the importance of setting boundaries and how miscommunication can affect relationships.”
A rising talent within the jazz and soul scene, Kasia Konstance finds inspiration from an eclectic mix of artists both old and new; crediting Ella Fitzgerald and Erykah Badu as well as Mndsgn and SiR to name a few. Born in Poland, she craves authenticity and hopes her music provides a moment of solace to those who need it. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis five years ago, and despite her ongoing battle with the condition, credits music for helping her to relax and stimulate her thinking through the difficult moments. With her ‘Different Skies’ EP providing a snapshot into her creative vision, Kasia Konstance is an exciting artist to have on your radar in 2023.
