B-ahwe - Ride 2 Nowhere (Official Video)

Emerging Alternative South London-based singer-songwriter B-ahwe self-releases her first solo track of the year ‘Ride 2 Nowhere’. Produced by close friend and collaborator, TAMBALA, the dreamlike beat develops into an infectious sonic that beautifully complements B-ahwe's tones.

Co-created whilst travelling in Vietnam, the pair successfully channel themes of liberation, escapism and empowerment.

Of Polish descent, 27-year-old B-ahwe was born and raised in Nottingham, and she uses music to journey through relatable life experiences and themes of self-worth, mental health, feminism and relationships. She studied Jazz and Popular Music at Leeds Conservatoire, where she met TAMBALA, LAUSSE THE CAT & Nix Northwest, who have been inspirational in her musical journey, encouraging her to produce, and aiding her in developing her signature sound and style. B-ahwe draws from a varied musical palette, with her inspirations ranging from Joy Crookes, Ojerime & Biig Piig to icons such as Erykah Badu and Sarah Vaughan.

Renowned for her live performances, she has recently performed at Amazing Grace and The Great Escape. Now, she focuses on supporting US Soul artist Curtis Harding across his European tour before returning to perform at Gilles Peterson’s ‘We Out Here’ festival in August. Last year B-ahwe had some career highlights, including winning the Drake YolanDa Award and touring with Oscar Jerome and Nix Northwest, which led to the singer performing in some iconic venues across the UK. Outside of her solo music, she has collaborated and contributed vocals to various artists and projects, including Nix Northwest, LAUSSE THE CAT and Mitekess. Along the way, she has received support from Jamz Supernova, Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri and Gilles Peterson.

Marking her first release of 2023, ‘Ride to Nowhere’ sets a precedent for what to expect in the coming months, the track is an introduction to a whole new B-ahwe world. Having constantly and consistently worked at honing her craft, she’s sitting on an abundance of music which she is excited to share.
