Imaginary Friends - Joke (Single)

It might not sound it at first listen but this is a rebellious track. It bucks all the trends we’re accustomed to in single releases. There’s no traditional structure, no hook and it even just fades out at one point. Don’t panic! The track is coming back, give it a sec. There’s no discernible narrative. The content is lucid at times, especially in the first part, and stream of consciousness at others. At this point you’re probably not expecting what’s actually delivered which is a languid, lo-fi vibe. Imaginary Friend’s voice suits this style and it’s fun to listen to his flights of fancy. It’s an ideal lazy afternoon track, especially if you’ve got a lil something to help you relax.

'Joke' is part of Ear-Sight's 'concept compilation album': Beats on Boat vol. 2. All artists put forth two tracks in two genres, it's super limited edition - only 300 copies of the double LP are available. It's out now so worth moving quickly on it.
