Lucagotbbm - STAY UP (Single)

South West London artist Lucagotbbm shares his latest track ‘STAY UP’, out now on all streaming platforms via One House. The single is the first of a string of releases to follow over the Summer.

Fusing elements of dance, punk and anti-pop into the fabric of his sound, the 21 year old Lucagotbbm creates his own unique sound that has drawn comparisons to King Krule with his lo-fi avant-garde approach to making music. His debut releases came out through Steel City Dance Discs at the close of last year, and now returns with his brand new single ‘STAY UP’ accompanied by a live performance video. ‘STAY UP’ is a sonic dance between late night brashness and early morning melancholy as it permeates between the energy of both states: it’s a melodramatic take on feelings of imbalance between hedonism and wanting to achieve something. On the track, the artist states: “It came from wanting to present the sounds of a late night out in all its glory; staying up and staying active as a kind of mantra.”  He wants his music to feel immersive and for people to feel energised and connect to it.

With a lizard-like ability to transform his sound in order to connect, Lucagotbbm boasts an innate versatility that allows him to create his own world of sound; a world that is set to evolve and grow in tandem with its creator. His music acts as an ever-evolving attempt to capture moments of introspection and observation, fusing varying genres to provide a consistently unique sound. Both a partial throwback & parody of the high-budget early 00s pop sounds & aesthetics, the versatile artist fuses sonic elements of current times with subtle takes on consumerism and commercialism in his visuals. Inspired by a raft of artists spanning Gorillaz, Odd Future, King Krule and Jamie T, he has spent the past 5 years making music daily, and is ready to unleash his music to the world.
