Benny Atlas - Don’t Say It (Single)

Fresh from a run of exceptional performances, rising Wolverhampton native Benny Atlas marks his return with new single ‘Don’t Say It’, out now via independent imprint TLD Records.

A tongue-in-cheek record awash with rich soulful inflections, ‘Don’t Say It’ sees Benny explore the issues with infidelity, as he takes on the persona of a problematic male character who takes advantage of a woman’s emotions and feelings. The track kicks off a new phase for Bennywhere he will be diving deep into the inner workings of relationships and modern dating. With ‘Don’t Say It’ displaying behavioural flaws in the main character as he pleadingly proclaims, “I don’t wanna be the bad guy”, Benny drops his signature “loverboy” sound for a more thought-provoking situations.

Sonically, ‘Don’t Say It’ is a beautiful example of Benny’s vocal talents, with his honey-dipped voice leading stunning layered harmonies into a catchy chorus, over a sexy, soulful groove produced by Sam Posner (Cat Burns, Zak Abel, Yasmin Lacey).

Speaking on the record, Benny shares, “I have always written about the joy and calmness of falling, and being, in love. With this next chapter of music I wanted to delve more into the other side of it, the paranoia, temptation and possibility for disaster and heartbreak. Don’t Say It is the first part of this story.”

The release tails his latest performance at London’s Jazz Cafe earlier this month for Global Soul Radio’s showcase, performing an exceptional set alongside the likes of Jaz Karis, Shaé Universe, Iyamah and more. Earlier this year, he gave a remarkable performance at The Great Escape Festival amidst a strong lineup of rising talent, which followed on from his sold-out debut headline show in January at The Lower Third - a show that foreshadowed the amazing year ahead for the exciting talent.
