JBEE - HBK (Mixtape)

MOBO nominated rapper JBEE releases his highly anticipated debut mixtape 'HBK' (heartbreak kid) after becoming a front-runner in the new wave of rappers rising to the top. Accompanying the release is a Blue Boredom-directed (Nemzzz, Digga D, Blanco) video for the lead single ‘Just 4 Me’, which captures J and his love interest shooting hoops and growing closer. JBEE has been on a meteoric rise since 2021, building a dedicated fan base both on and offline and recently announced his debut headline show which will be taking place at The Camden Assembly on the 27th of October to celebrate the tape's release. Spanning over eight tracks, JBEE delivers five unreleased singles alongside fan favourites; 'DTB', 'Heart On Ice' and his game-changing ‘Next Up’. J enlisted some of the scene's most in-demand producers for his debut, including Chris Rich (Digga D, Central Cee, Yaw Tog), Hargo (Central Cee, K-Trap, Clavish), Luke Grieve (Meekz, Ayra Starr), Sai On The Beat (Nemzz), JoJo (Arrdee) and BackWoodloverr (JBEE).

The North London rhymer and self-proclaimed ‘Heart Break Kid’ only takes inspiration from personal experiences and bravely lays it bear on his debut, taking the listener on his growth journey. ‘Brown Eyes’ opens the project and uncovers the pain felt from being let down by the one closest to him after regrettably ignoring all the red flags. Going through every emotion, J proves that hurt people hurt people, and on ‘Cold Inside’, we see roles reverse as he becomes the one to inflict pain after having his heart broken into pieces. As the tape goes on, he begins to come out the other side and ‘4x4’ see’s the rapper demonstrate personal growth by expressing what he’s learnt through the tougher times. Back in his sample pocket, ‘Just 4 Me’ is a full circle moment as J opens himself up for love again before the final unreleased track 'J4’s' sees him reflect on success and all the highs and lows that it brings. J has been setting the tone this year with his new singles ‘DTB’ and ‘Heart On Ice’, quickly becoming some of his most popular drops.
