D Block Europe - DBE World (Mixtape)
D Block Europe release new mixtape ‘DBE World’ ahead of their headline performance at Wireless to cement their reputation as leaders of the wavy-rap renaissance. Spanning across 24-tracks, the project enlists contributions from UK rap peers Aitch, Chip, Clavish Headie One, K-Trap, M Huncho, Nafe Smallz and US rapper Oh Geesy. Recent single ‘Pakistan’ with Clavish is on course to enter the top 10 and has been trending #1 on YouTube since its release last Friday. ‘DBE World’ is an extension of their YouTube vlog series offering a fly-on-the-wall insight into their lifestyle.
‘DBE World’ is the epitome of the D Block Europe experience. Openers ‘Charges’, ‘Side Effects and ‘Hush Lil Baby‘, validates why they have led a generation showcasing a blend of wavy vocals, infectious beats and enthralling lyrics. Ghostly production from R14 (Nines & Potter Payper) on ‘Kettle Blue’ is a sound bed for introspective verses from both Adz and LB before offering up a summer-tinged anthem ‘No More Time For This’ featuring Chip. The heart of the project brings us further into their world, offering a light-hearted approach to love and relationships on ‘Crying in Chanel’ and ‘Lottery Love’. Following the same theme, standout track ‘She Likes Me’ featuring Aitch, perfectly captures the essence of the project, followed by lead single ‘Pakistan’ featuring Clavish. Closing the tape on a more sombre note, ‘Submarine’ and ‘Obssessed’ follow the duo’s traditional format that has paved the way for their 10+ Gold & 5 Platinum singles, 5 Gold mixtapes, over 4 billion global streams, and 27x top 40 singles.
The growth of South London duo D Block Europe has come with record-breaking highlights, most notably becoming the first UK rap artists to sell out double headline shows at Alexandra Palace in a day. Cult classics ‘Overseas’, ‘Darling’ and ‘Make You Smile’ have transferred them from Lewisham to worldwide recognition outlined by features from Burna Boy, Ed Sheeran, Central Cee and more. DBE followed up on three O2 Arena shows with summer tinged anthem ‘Side Effects’ and the highly anticipated ‘Pakistan’ to mark a run of releases ahead of the project. A recent performance at Portugal’s Rolling Loud will be followed by a main stage performance at Wireless - where they have a number of surprises to reveal - to mark standout moments during this momentous period. Not to mention, die-hard fans will be able to hear the project in full for the first time ever.
