Dr Lekta - The Manuscript (Album)

Released on the 14th of this month, Dr Lekta returns with his “best album to date” titled The Manuscript. The 11-tracked album consists of features such as Heavyweight MC's Jadakiss, Awon, Camron & Big Twins, artists that further notion the Hip-Hop approach to this album. The raw lyricism of each song displays the immense capabilities of Lekta, as well as the classic sample style tonality of most of the tracks, something that further familiarises anyone native to Hip-Hop. Elements of confidence, yet the contradictory vulnirabilty are illustrated in almost all songs, with Punchline Mafia initiating with Lekta’s ‘darkside’ but ending with his assertiveness within the world of rap. This approach is also found in Darkside and Manifesting, with melancholy being the root of Lekta’s strength. With such a powerfully written album, as well as it’s solid ties with Hip-Hop, Dr Lekta’s smooth blend between susceptibility and strength will most definitely play for an important role in keeping the genre alive.
