Empress - Empowering Anthems (Album)

Hailing from Paisley, Emma Shaw, AKA Empress, has been a mainstay in the Scottish hip-hop scene for over 10 years. During that time, Empress has performed and collaborated with some of Scotland’s most finest musicians; including Orwell Prize winner Loki, SAY award winner Nova, Scottish HipHop godfather Steg G, Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5, The Glasgow Barons Orchestra and many more.

A seasoned pro, Empress has performed for thousands of fans on some of the country’s most prestigious stages; such as King Tuts, The Barrowlands, Celtic Connections, Electric Fields and Belladrum Tartan Heart to name a few.

With a massive back catalogue of singles and an EP, Empress released her debut album, ”Love Wins”, to critical acclaim in 2020. Always one to be raising the bar, Emma decided to pair up with renowned hip-hop producer and music tutor Macapella to provide us her latest studio album, ”Empowering Anthems”. The album was recorded with Franz Ferdinand's Audrey Tait at Novasound Studios.

A law student at Strathclyde University, Empress has a large loyal worldwide social media following and enjoys consistent radio airplay throughout the UK, France, Netherlands and the USA.
